Freddie Eugene Thronson Sr 78 of Pensacola, FL. Peacefully went to be with the Lord on Tuesday Oct. 26, 2010. Freddie was born to Hans F. Thronson and Martha Elizabeth Broome Thronson on May 18, 1932 in Collins Mississippi. Freddie proudly served in the US Army and was listed as a POW from 1950-53 in the Korean war. Upon his release he was honored in Hattisburg MS with a key to the city and a day named in his honor. He retired after 20 years of service as a Staff Sergeant. He was strong in...

Freddie Eugene Thronson Sr 78 of Pensacola, FL. Peacefully went to be with the Lord on Tuesday Oct. 26, 2010. Freddie was born to Hans F. Thronson and Martha Elizabeth Broome Thronson on May 18, 1932 in Collins Mississippi. Freddie proudly served in the US Army and was listed as a POW from 1950-53 in the Korean war. Upon his release he was honored in Hattisburg MS with a key to the city and a day named in his honor. He retired after 20 years of service as a Staff Sergeant. He was strong in His faith and enjoyed playing gospel bluegrass music on his banjo. He is Survived by his two daughters: Renee` (grandsons Derik and Shane - deceased) and Gwenda Thronson, and his son Freddie Thronson Jr. and Daughter in Law Betty Thronson . He is preceded by sisters - Lillie Thronson Graham (Billy), Lela Thronson Weatherford (Laverne), Gracie May Thronson Holifield (Lewis), Gladys Thronson Caldwell (Franklin); brothers - Markil Thronson (Voncille), James Thronson (Velma), David Ray Thronson Sr.(Rosmary). He is survived by brothers - Carl Thronson (Mavis), Lavelle Thronson, Dewey Thronson (Betty), D.C. Thronson. He has several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. He was loved by family and friends for his personality and tenderness and will be greatly missed. A viewing for friends and family will be held Thursday the 28th at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens Chapel in Pensacola FL. From 3-4 pm with service and military honors to follow.
